		December, 2009 New Home for the Homestead Clinic in Wakefield Following on from the opening of the new Ash Grove Medical Centre, Knottingley in July 2009, GPI can now announce completion of a second new Primary Care Centre in Wakefield District: The Homestead Clinic, Alverthorpe. Homestead Clinic houses a 3 GP practice and accommodation for Wakefield District Primary Care Trust as well as an integrated pharmacy operated by Boots Pharmacy and parking for 55 cars. The larger, two storey centre, replacing the outdated surgery of Dr Irrelewayi and Dr De Souza, provides much needed extra space for the PCT to increase service provision beneficial to the local community. The new centre, originally due to complete in early 2010, was actually delivered a month ahead of schedule on 11th December 2009.
