Equitable Access Centre re-fit under way on Harrow Road, Westminster

GPI has begun work on a new Equitable Access Centre (EAC) to form part of a mixed use development on Harrow Road within the Queens Park Ward of Westminster.
Genesis Housing Group has recently completed the redevelopment of 427-429 Harrow Road to provide a new eight storey building (including basement) comprising 35 residential units, 12 live/work units, retail, restaurant and office accommodation at ground and first floor levels, as well as 40 underground car parking spaces.
GPI are working with Malling Health LLP, the service provision arm of the West Malling Group Practice, based in West Malling, Kent to re-fit 4 units within this redevelopment. GPI was asked to assist Malling Health with the identification of suitable premises from which to provide a new EAC service in Westminster as well as another project in Worle. The centre was commissioned by the Primary Care Trust (PCT) under the Equitable Access Programme aimed at improving access to primary care services in the area.
In total the medical centre accommodation will comprise 510 sq m GIA (438 sq m NIA) and will be fitted out to a specification that meets the latest Primary Healthcare guidance and is designed to achieve a BREEAM rating of very good. The construction comprises of two self contained ground and one part first floor shell units, which are to be fitted out as a new medical centre.
The re-fit is being carried out by Tienda Ltd who are also working with GPI on schemes in Grays and Saltdean.
The project is due to complete in July 2010.
