Crawley Community benefits again with completion of new Medical Centre at Ifield

A new detached two storey medical centre providing circa 1,046 sq m GIA accommodation for a 5 partner GP Practice and circa 120 sq m attached single storey Lloyds Pharmacy has just completed on the site of the former Ifield Community College.

In terms of location the new premises provides a modern well-equipped medical centre for Dr Alexander & Partners and their circa 10,000 registered patients directly opposite the former surgery premises making it an easy transition for doctors and patients.

The increase in size will enable the practice to develop its training capacity and the flexibility of the internal design will enable more clinical space to be made available to accommodate more doctors should the need arise due to practice list size expansion.

Additional benefits include increased facilities for the improvement of and access to services formerly provided in a secondary care setting. The new premises mean the doctors can manage a greater number of patients in a primary care setting and thereby reduce referrals, hospital stays and emergency admissions.

Pat Gander, Practice manager of the Ifield Medical Practice said:

"Ifield Medical Practice is extremely proud of its new 'state of the art' surgery building. Patients and staff are delighted with the facilities and improved working environment which will enable delivery of more health care services closer to home. GPIC has supported the Practice thoughout all stages of the planning and construction phases of the development, proving an invaluable resource and support throughout the entire period"
