Construction has commenced on 3rd new medical centre for Crawley
The Ifield Medical Practice's ambition for modern, purpose built surgery premises has taken another step forward recently with construction commencing on site.
The development, replacing the practice's existing 1960s accommodation, extended over time to its absolute limit, will enable the doctors and their primary health care team to maintain a high quality service for their patients. The 1,050 sq m surgery will provide improved car parking, more internal space for a larger waiting area, meeting rooms, larger consulting and treatment rooms and minor surgery, whilst also enabling better storage and room for future expansion. Issues relating to DDA and confidentiality have also been addressed within the design.
There is additional space on site for a pharmacy which will further improve the patient experience by facilitating electronic prescription dispensing and speeding up the availability of medication.
GPI is grateful to the various scheme stakeholders: Crawley Borough Council, West Sussex County Council, NHS West Sussex and Ifield Medical Practice for working to bring this project forward. Completion is expected late summer 2010
